Full Description
This is one of the Legends series of replica WWII guns by Umarex.
Dimensons and functions are true to the original, the only difference being that the original just used the dust cover for a safety, this one has a selector switch on the bottom.
7 3/4 lbs. vs. the original's 8 1/4, thanks to the all metal construction.
The magazines use two Co2 cartridges, but for shorter shooting sessions just one can be used. An empty cartridge must be inserted along with the full one to fill up the space.
The magazines hold 60 BB's, which is the highest capacity of any of these replica airguns. 60 BB's can give you quite a few short bursts on full auto, or one really long burst
The stock collapses and is very solid, no wiggle, which is more than I can say for most collapsible stocks. The little tab on the stock that was used on the originals to help get that last few rounds in the magazine is there on this one as well.
This fires from an open bolt like most SMGs. The bolt only travels back and forth maybe an inch, but the movement is enough to give a sense of recoil and realism. To add to the realism, a small puff of smoke (gas) comes out of the muzzle and action when firing.
Fixed sights like the original, and I added a replica WWII cotton carbine sling like would have been used. This replica is pretty accurate for a smoothbore with semi -auto aimed fire. I can group about 1 1/4" at 15 yards. On full auto this has a rate of around 1050 rpm. It's a hoot to mow down plastic army men and toy dinosaurs
One nice thing about these detachable mag airguns is that there are no seals in the gun to leak or need to be replaced. All the pressure and the seals to contain it are in the magzine. If you did have a magazine problem you can put in another and keep shooting. This came with one magazine, when I bought it I had a spare $50 mag sent as well..
This is a very well made replica and should last for many years. I'm selling it because I have way too many, running out of room to store them and don't have time to shoot them enough. New these are around $220, the extra mag and sling were $65. I could ship it for $15 extra.
