This was passed to me after my father passed its a Cz 24 pre ww2 military acceptance 1929. 8p 1024
For an interwar ČZ vz. 27 pistol, a unit mark of 8P 1024 combined with the Czechoslovak army acceptance mark (E7 followed by a two-digit year) makes this an exceptionally well-documented historical piece. On March 14, 1939, German forces invaded the remaining parts of Czechoslovakia. While the political leadership ordered a general surrender, soldiers of the 3rd Battalion of the 8th Infantry Regiment stationed at Czajánek’s Barracks in Místek refused. They opened fire on the advancing German troops, fighting a fierce, localized battle before running out of ammunition. It stands as the only organized, armed resistance by the Czechoslovak Army against the German occupation.Your pistol, weapon number 1024, belonged to the very regiment that fought that battle.
