GERMAN Weatherby "Custom Shop" Mark V  340 weatherby Magnum  (sn P413xx) ... This was a presentation rifle from Roy Weatherby to Arizona big game guide, author, Bob Housholder for a  1970 Polar Bear Hunt. The floorplate is engraved w/ this information. It has a 26 inch barrel, deluxe,skip-line checkering on upgraded wood (Custom Shop). It came with a Weatherby Supreme scope; 4 power x 81mm. The reticle is a verticle post w/ two circles  (doughnut holes). The scope is mounted in Buehler rings/Buehler mount. Condition; fired under a 20 round box to sight in and use for the sucessful Polar Bear hunt. Finish is 98%+.       Bob Housholder was a friend of Roy Weatherby. He was the first person to achieve Arizona's "Big Ten" game animals, author of numerous Arizona hunting books, including Desert Big Horn Sheep, Javalina, "The Grizzly Bear In Arizona",etc.. He was  past secretary of the Grand Slam Club, Safari Club Int,. He wrote for Outdoor Life magazine, etc.   I bought this and another Mark V presentation rifle from Bob Housholder in about 1989. The picture w/ Housholder and this 340 and the 300Wby Mag, also listed are the two in the picture, 340 is the bottom rifle, 300 is on the table.The picture is in "Sports Biography of Bob Housholder".
