Marlin 1895 .45-70 – Mad Pig Customs "Thumper" Build

Up for sale is a never-fired Marlin 1895 in .45-70 Govt that's been through the full Mad Pig Customs "Thumper" treatment. Mad Pig is the Connecticut shop known for modernizing classic lever guns, and this one shows why: OD green Cerakote on the receiver and metalwork, an extended M-LOK handguard with a full-length Picatinny top rail, ghost ring rear sight, ported muzzle brake, and a side-saddle round carrier on the receiver that keeps spare rounds at hand. It retains the gray laminate stock with checkering and rubber recoil pad, and it comes with QD sling mounts and a padded grey sling.

This rifle has never been fired and is in new condition, a hard-hitting, quick-handling lever gun ready for hunting, bear country, or being the most fun gun at the range. Keep in mind that building one of these yourself means buying the base Marlin 1895 first and then paying Mad Pig for the full Thumper customization on top of that, plus waiting out their build queue. Comparable Mad Pig collaboration rifles retail for around $4,700 new, so this is a chance to get the finished product now without the extra cost or the wait. Asking $4,250
