There is not a whole lot to explain about a shotgun—you point it in the general direction of what you want to hit and pull the trigger. In my opinion, this gun is balanced nicely and is an excellent gun for any purpose.

This gun has an adjustable poly choke on it. I hunt a lot of small game, and my personal shotgun has this same choke. I love it because I never have to worry about swapping chokes before a hunt or losing choke inserts. You can adjust the choke at any time. If you get into a tight brush, you can open the choke up. If you get to an open field with longer-range shots, you simply reach up and change it.  

An Excellent Choice for Youth:

This would make an exceptionally good choice for a young person's first shotgun. The bolt action forces a new hunter to slow down and think about their shots.

This reminds of my own youth,

I wanted to hunt for as long as I can remember. My father allowed me to start carrying a gun at 8 or 9 years old, I could take my BB gun, then my unloaded  pellet gun. I even progressed to fully loaded.   I was expected to treat it like a real shotgun or rifle. I learned very very quickly and a bit painfully; safety on, never point it unsafely, god forbid if I ever pulled the trigger…..nope that never happened.  I was happy to be trusted on hunts  and I was totally convinced I would make an amazing shot and kill an animal! everyone would be in awe of me.  After a couple years I proved I was responsible and got my first shotgun.  A single shot 20G, trust only goes so far.  But I finally got my first game animal!  A big red squirrel in the pecan tree in our backyard and NOBODY was looking! Growing up is hard!

The important point; In my opinion, a new hunter, especially a youth, should carry a non-leathal gun until they prove they are safe.  This way, if they make a mistake and point it the wrong way, it will not be a tragedy.
