Full Description
As the title line states, selling what I believe is a Military and Police Smith & Wesson Revolver in .38 S&W Special Ctg
We have a lot of LEOs in the family, I was told this belonged to my grandfather who was a Chicago detective for 30+ years.
I've attempted to decode the serial number and model number 4 96 (stamped on the yoke). I read the V serial number preface indicates the gun was manufactured in 1951, some websites state the V indicates a Victory Model. I am not sure which if either is correct.
Gun shoots great, have shot it perdiodically over the last 20+ years, most recently last year.
**Buyer must be 21, have a valid Arizona drivers license or CCW and be willing to complete and sign a bill of sale. Local face to face sale only in public location. No felons or prohibited possessors
***Cash only, no trades, open to REASONABLE offers
***Update 06.21.2024; I want to thank all the folks that reached out to me regarding the gun. Some folks have mentioned the revolver is indeed a Victory model M + P from WW2, mid 1940's at latest. Others have claimed it is not a Victory model due to the grips and serial number. As mentioned above my own investigation leads me to believe it is a Victory model due to the V in the serial number but the debate goes on....
