Full Description
For my 20th listing, I am bringing out something very special. For years, I was an active competitor in Cowboy Action Shooting (CAS) . . . my alias Kid Cherry. I typically shot in the gunfighter category and my weapons of choice were a pair of 44s. I will be keeping one and selling the other.
UNITED SPORTING ARMS, INC.
Location: Tucson, Arizona
United Sporting Arms manufactured high-quality, heavy-duty single-action revolvers in several locations in NY, CT, ID, NC, and AZ from about 1972 to 1999. The initial production model was called the Abilene, offered in .357 or .44 Mag., and limited numbers of .45 Colt. The Abilene was acquired by Mossberg. Successor models by United Sporting Arms were the Seville and the El Dorado, both models produced in many variations. The El Dorado was the first all-stainless .44 Magnum single-action on the market. Associated firms producing these models included El Dorado Arms and Sporting Arms, Inc. Most common chambering is .44 Magnum, but a stretched frame variation was produced for longer cartridges such as the.357 Maximum. Other production is reported in .22 LR, .454. Mag, .41 Mag, .45 Win. Mag. and .357 Super Mag. Extremely rare chamberings reportedly include 9mm, .44-40, .32 H&R Mag, .22 K-Hornet, and .218 Mashburn Bee.
However, what I am offering is truly something special.
Both of the revolvers have modified triggers and run super slick . . . However, for my right-handed, I have hand carved Tigerwood just for my hand. The other I left with the stock, Walnut grips, which you can see in the pictures.
The truly special part of this sale is actually . . . I have the original box it came in, in 1982, and it has a handmade wooden top, right from the factory. I have no clue how many are left in existence.
The pictures will show all the serial numbers match. I also tried to do the gun justice with my pictures but honestly, in the sun, it looks like it's a royal purple. It is gorgeous.
I will meet any place reasonable for the sale. Just let me know.
DISCLAMER: I am not looking to sell to dealers, and you must be a resident of Arizona, legally allowed to own a firearm in the state of Arizona, be at least 18 years old for a rifle or 21 for a handgun, and I will be creating a signed bill of sale for both of us.
