I had this scope on a Mini-14 which I put 100 rounds through then sold the rifle without the scope.

Comment:

I never used the colored reticles.

I only used the Black Reticle which does not need to be turned on; as such the battery never ran down and you are getting 1 battery in the scope and 1 extra battery.
