Description
Up for sale is a pre-war 1932 Izhevsk hex receiver M91/30 in a period-correct Soviet birch stock. Hex receivers were phased out in the mid-1930s in favor of simplified round receivers and are the most collectible and solid M91/30 variants. Arsenal refurbished with all primary stamped numbers matching (49057).
Service & Functional Testing
-
Gunsmith Inspected & Range Tested: Fully checked and live-fire tested for smooth feeding, reliable cycling, positive extraction, and clean primer ignition.
-
Complete Deep Clean: Fully field-stripped down to the bare receiver, including complete bolt disassembly down to the firing pin and mainspring. Cleaned and properly conditioned/lubricated with Ballistol.
-
Verified Safe Headspace: Precision tested with coin gauges—smoothly closes on GO, and strictly refuses/stops on NO-GO and FIELD.
-
Smith-Sights Accuracy & Trigger Kit: Fitted with custom brass receiver/recoil lug shims and tuned trigger components for solid action lockup and a cleaner, smoother trigger pull.
Markings & Historical Authenticity
-
All-Matching Serial Numbers (49057): Stamped matching numbers across the Barrel Shank, Bolt Body, Magazine Floorplate, and Socket Bayonet.
-
Izhevsk Barrel Shank & Tang: Stamped with matching Izhevsk "arrow in triangle" crests and 1931/1932 production dates.
-
Tula Bolt Mark: Bolt handle root stamped with the Tula Arsenal five-point star, consistent with post-WWII armory overhaul.
-
GRAU Refurbishment Stamp: Right side of the buttstock clearly displays the boxed square with diagonal line (/ inside a square)—the mark of GRAU Arsenal No. 1 in Balakliya, Ukraine.
-
Izhevsk Proofed Bands: Both front and rear barrel bands feature crisp Izhevsk proof marks.
-
Clean Import Mark: PW Arms (Redmond, WA) stamp is discreetly positioned on the receiver flat, leaving all historic top barrel shank crests 100% untouched and visible.
