This is a Springfield M1 Garand, Serial Number: 283XXXX, born on April 1944. It appears to have all Springfield parts. The barrel is from February 1955, SA F6525448, bolt,D28287-12A SB10, Operating rod 6535382 SA.  The Parkerizing is in very good shape and the stock is good to very good condition. There is a Department of Defense cartouche on the left side of the stock near the receiver. There is also a circle 'P' on the grip near the trigger housing. On the rear of the stock on the right side is a stamped number, 9717,  probably a rack number. The muzzle reading is 1+ and the throat reading is 2+ on a scale of one to ten, one being excellent.

This is a beautiful collector gun in real good shape.  I will include 4 magazines.
