The Russian-made Molot Vepr 12 is banned from import into the United States. The U.S. Department of the Treasury added the manufacturer, Molot-Oruzhie, to its sanctions list in 2017 due to Russia's annexation of Crimea.
While no new imports are allowed, it is still 100% legal to own and sell pre-existing Vepr 12s in most states. Because supply is capped at the number of shotguns imported prior to 2017, they have become highly sought-after collector's items commanding premium prices on the secondary market.
